I love the sci-fi or monster movies that have come out the past few years - from District 9 to all the zombie movies, so I thought this movie would offer me something interesting. Well, the pacing is a bit slow, the monsters don't look scary at all, and the movie just descends into a maudlin love story. There could've been a lot of excitement and scary scenes if handled by a more seasoned director like Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg or Danny Boyle. Maybe they also should've changed the title to Octopus, since the monsters look that way. The title of the movie is really misleading. Don't waste your money on this. Almost everyone leaving the theater looked disappointed and were making snide remarks.
